Hello, my name is Bimal. A pretty happy human who keeps asking questions.

Now this isn’t a gospel, but I think I’ve figured out this thing called life. Well, it’s only take me over 38 years to figure it out, but who knows, a few months down the line I may be back at square one — but there isn’t a square one. Let me tell you where I am now.

I’m currently sitting in my apartment, UK garage music (It’s not all I listen to) playing in the background, a very fragrant orange smelling candle flicking beside me. It’s 9.30pm. Dishes still need to be washed up and my bedtime routine still needs to happen. Now, here’s what you need to know. A proper nights sleep, a routine in the morning and evening are so so important. Without those elements, you can forget about the rest of the day as they won’t work efficiently and you won’t be as productive as you really want to be.

At some point in the past or in the present, you might have asked yourself, what is my purpose and what was I put here to do? I know I did, and until you can answer that question, I am not sure you are fully happy. Perhaps you are, but then you may be wondering what I am doing here. Having a purpose is to know what to do with your time you have here on this beautiful planet and making the most of it. I have asked myself so many times, what is my purpose? I think the process of finding this out isn’t a one person job. In my opinion I believe it takes one more person to help you understand you and what you have been put here for.

You could if you wanted to, feel really excited by the prospect of finding out the answer to this question. How can I be happy? In my opinion — these are all my opinions FYI- once you have figured out your purpose, you will be a happier, but let me stop you right there. It’s not that simple. Here’s why. The human is a complex species. We are essentially an animal, so there is a purpose for everyone in this ecosystem of earth. We are all part of a lifecycle, birth and death is part of life. Successes and failures also. It’s how we deal with those occasions. Every species (human’s included) evolve and learn. You included.

This piece will take a little explaining. Well of course it would. This isn’t the final answer but part of an ongoing study. So how do you find your purpose? The place we have to start is, who am I? What is important to me? Why are they important to me? Then we have to review every type of emotion we’ve had in the past and ask why have we’ve felt like that. Has that helped the situation? Then we need to break it down bit by bit, become introspective about situations we find ourselves in. We can control everything we are thinking, everything we are feeling, everything we say and everything we do.

In the next piece, I’ll talk about how to start to get to know yourself.
